EL PEZ VOLADOR

DIR - EMILIANO PARMIGGIANI

PRODUCCIÓN GENERAL - PACO CANO

An extraordinary love story between a flying fish and a cloud, where impossible dreams come true.

Emiliano Parmiggiani was born in La Falda, Córdoba, Argentina, on April 14, 1959. He spent his childhood and part of his youth there, working as a lifeguard, earning a 1st dan in karate, and becoming a skilled horse rider and amateur drummer. However, it was at the Ricardo Rojas School of Theater where art struck his heart, revealing his gift for drawing and marking the beginning of his creative journey.

He studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, where he honed his immense talent. His mentors, Alberto Breccia, Lito Fernández, and especially Ernesto García Seijas—known worldwide for his distinctive style—profoundly influenced his development as an artist.

During the 1986 World Cup, Emiliano began his career as a comic book artist in Argentina. It was then that he collaborated with William Hanna and Joseph Barbera to create illustrations for the globally successful He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

At Columba Publishing, he worked alongside writer Robin Wood on comics such as Arabella, Todos los Trenes de Alemania, and Raycon, among many others. At Record Publishing, he created works for Germany, Italy, and the USA.

Emiliano left the comic book world to enter advertising, working with writer Carlos Trillo. His first storyboard for a commercial was created for director Martin Lobo at Cinetauro. From there until the end of 2000, he worked with virtually every director in Argentine advertising.

In film, Emiliano illustrated for feature films such as La ciénaga, directed by Lucrecia Martel; La edad del sol, a musical comedy directed by Ariel Piluso and starring folk singer Soledad Pastorutti; and La vida según Muriel, by Eduardo Milewicz, featuring Soledad Villamil.

Unknowingly, he would be in Argentina for the last time at the disruptive TV station Pol-ka, where he created work for various projects under the direction of Adrián Suar from 1998 to 2000.

In 2001, with a suitcase, three changes of clothes, a pencil in hand, and a notebook full of contacts, Emiliano moved to Mexico in search of work. He quickly found opportunities as a storyboard artist at various production houses but hadn't yet found his true calling.

In 2004, as a production designer, Emiliano founded ADN Films with director Bruno Musso. This production company, specializing in commercial and animated films, won several international awards until its closure in 2009.

Thanks to his many outstanding works and the excellent reputation he built, various agencies and production companies sought his services. Eventually, he joined the production company Colectivo Cine.

In a mysterious twist of fate, Colectivo Cine housed a small audiovisual content production company called "Los Animals." In 2013, Colectivo Cine disbanded, but Emiliano was warmly welcomed by "Los Animals" as a key creative pillar in 2015.

That year, with a renewed vision, alongside Paco Cano, they moved away from trends and into innovation, embedding their hearts in "Los Animals," a production house where the most controversial point is creativity that evokes emotions.

Currently, Emiliano Parmiggiani serves as a production designer and partner at "Los Animals," producing countless commercials, documentaries, and various audiovisual content.

After this extensive journey, he has begun working on his directorial debut: "El Pez Volador."
